Deer Valley Dental Care is currently looking for experienced Hygienists to join our dedicated team.

Job Title: Registered Dental Hygienist

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Reports to: Craig Hayes, Office Manager

Deer Valley Dental Care is looking for a licensed professional to provide extraordinary treatment and care of the mouth, teeth, and gums of our patients. Deer Valley believes in friends helping friends and provides full 1 hour hygiene appointments to our patients.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct an initial dental assessment and consult with dentists on patient care
• Patient education of oral hygiene instruction and other dental related areas
• Review and reinforce treatment plan recommendations with patients
• Reviewing medical and dental history with patients
• Clean and stimulate gums to prevent gum disease
• Sub-gingival scaling, root planning and soft tissue curratage
• Apply fluorides and other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay
• Administer local anesthetic during periodontal root planning and/or scaling procedures
• Perio and tooth charting
• Performs charting on patient's needs
• Ensure patients have up to date X-rays using digital radiography and interpret
• Provide intra-oral camera tour of patient's mouth
• Take dental impressions
• Manages patient hygiene regimen
• Cleans hygiene operatory, sterilizes instruments, and prepares hygiene operatory for patients
• Other duties as assigned
